At registration parents will receive general information about kindergarten and the physical examination forms that MUST be completed before entering school.

To be eligible to attend kindergarten during the 2008-09 school year, a child must be (5) years old on or before September 1, 2008. State law does not require a child to attend school until he/she is seven (7) years of age.  State law requires an original or certified copy of the birth certificate at the time of registration, your child will not be registered without one. Hospital certificates are not acceptable.

If this is your first child in District 47 you will also need PROOF OF RESIDENCY.  If you are a homeowner a signed contract with buyer / seller names and an address, a current tax bill or voter's registration card which reflects your existing address would serve as proof of residency.  If you are renting a home or an apartment in Crystal Lake, you must bring in a signed lease.  Both the renter and the landlord must sign the lease and state the rental address. If you don’t have this information you will not be able to register your child for kindergarten.

Parents are required to register their child at the school they will attend. After January 31, 2008 you will need to register your kindergartner at the District 47 C.O.R.E. Center, 300 Commerce Dr. We encourage you to register your child in January, as this not only helps the school district decide how many sections of kindergarten will be needed, it will also give you advance information about necessary physical forms that must be completed.  District 47 is required by law to exclude your child from attending school if you do not file a physical exam and immunization form before school starts. We urge parents to schedule your appointment now to beat the summer rush.
