Welcome to the Crystal Lake School District #47 web site. I hope you find the different sections of the site to be helpful and informative. The district has the largest student enrollment in McHenry County with over 9,000 students.
These students are housed in 12 buildings consisting of nine elementary schools and three middle schools. We also have an early childhood center adjacent to an elementary school that houses approximately 100 special preschool students.

The citizens of District 47 have always taken pride in their educational system and have supported us in our efforts to provide quality education and quality facilities for our students.

          Our Mission Statement in District 47 is very simple:

     our schools.

     reflect our beliefs.

As a school district we are proud that the curriculum we offer students is based on the best practices that exist in the educational community.  We continue to have more students meet or exceed standards than the state average on the Illinois Standards Achievement Tests.  We have a quality special education program, gifted education program, bilingual education program, and Reading Recovery program just to name a few.  The district has worked to provide these and other quality programs while at the same time has a commitment to fiscal responsibility.  

The passion and commitment that our board of education, administration, teachers and support staff have towards providing educational excellence for all children will continue to be the driving force behind providing our community with knowledgeable, wise, productive citizens.  As children leave our district we are committed to preparing them for their high school years and beyond.
